I obtained my BSc in Pharmacology and PhD from Liverpool University and moved to The University of Nottingham as a post-doctoral research fellow, where I remain today. My research investigates the role of monoamines in neurological and mental disorders, with a particular focus on the development and validation of predictive rodent models for schizophrenia, ADHD, depression and cognitive disorders to enhance our understanding of their underlying neuropathology.I became a BPS member in 1987, served on the British Journal of Pharmacology editorial board (1997-2000), and was elected to Fellowship in 2012. I was Member of Council (2003-2007) and Meetings Secretary (2004–2007) for the British Association for Psychopharmacology, and am currently president of the International Society for Serotonin Research.
